You may be wondering a few things. Why is Charles both a photographer and a celebrant? Do you do both at the same time? And what is a Celebrant?

Well, a Celebrant is another name for an Officiant. We take great care and expense in creating a unique ceremony experience for our couples. I go into more detail about it on my celebrant page; click here to check it out.

Now, my interest in photography started many years ago. I have loved photography since I was a high school senior in 2009. Being a photographer for the yearbook, it felt natural. Also, growing up in NYC, there is always something interesting to take a picture of. The people and things in this fascinating city are always interesting. However, it was not until 2020 that the world changed for everyone dealing with Covid. That is when I decided to pick up my camera and do it professionally, taking all the skills I have gained from my hobby and turning it into a business.

Then in 2023, two good friends, Chennya and Jarrod, honored me by asking if I would officiate their wedding. I happily said yes and wanted to make sure I did the best job I could. I was able to get help from a Master Celebrant with 20 years experience, Lois Heckman. I met her while photographing a couple's intimate elopement on her beautiful property. With her help I was able to give a great ceremony to my dear friends that much of their family really enjoyed. By my surprise two more sets of my friends ask me to officiate their weddings for 2024. So, wanting to get better, I decided to invest in a six month Masters Celebrant course that Lois told me about. She reassured me that I would love it and that it would be a benefit if I wanted to continue this type of work. When I was only three months into the course, it excited me so much that I decided to change up my business plan and offer both services.

With my passion for photography and storytelling, being a celebrant fit right in. It made me think of memorable moments on another level. So I have rebranded my business and “Crafting Soulful Stories” was born.

P.S. With the special package, the Adventure Elopement Experience, I can be both your photographer, celebrant, and so much more!

What “Crafting Soulful Stories” is all about.

This backdrop is just one of the locations in the iconic Central Park. Growing up in New York City, this park allowed you to take a break from the hustle of the city and relax. With my three favorite things being photography, travel, and food, it's always easy to go on an adventure and experience these things. Whether visiting a new place or meeting a new person, I am creating moments in time that I want to last forever, just like a photograph. Celebrating unique moments in people's lives is my gift to the world. There is an intensity in extraordinary times that you never want to forget. It's like lighting; it will never strike the same place twice but the impact is undoubtedly felt. With photography, I feel like a historian, preserving snapshots of life moments for posterity. As a celebrant, I feel like a director of a show where the couples are the stars. My mission as a storyteller is to allow my clients to shine in either aspect they pick me for. Working with them so they have a full experience creating special memories.

Now that you have learned about me, what are you looking for?

Finding the right photographer to work with is essential because you want to feel like it's a partnership. It becomes a truly special relationship. Trust and comfortability make the dynamic between the client and the photographer create magic. It's like looking for the perfect pair of shoes for your outfit. It has to make you look great, feel confident, and help represent your style.

When you are looking for a Celebrant or Officiant, they need to be more than just good at public speaking. They have to alleviate the stress of the couple during the ceremony. They have to take the guest on a journey that is the couple's Love Story, and you have to pull it all together like a show. With many moving pieces, I am confident that I can make your ceremony fun and worth remembering.

Now, there is a special elopement package called the “Full Elopement Experience,” where I plan everything for your day. Yes, I said everything. Not only am I your photographer and celebrant, but I am also your planner, adventure guide, and so much more. With me crafting your day, you have nothing to worry about.

"It is an honor for anyone to ask you if you will officiate their wedding. But for your friends to choose you to be up there, is more than words can say. Thank you, Chennya and JJ.” I will never forget the Jacobson Wedding."
